Introductions | Meg & Ariel

inapeloponnesianminute:

“We cook, dance, sing, act, write- probably everything you do under the sea.” she laughed. “Um, we ride horses. Well, most ride horses. I’ve taken to walking instead.” She relaxed as the sun came out, warming her skin. “What do you do under the surface?”

"Horses?" Ariel asked as her eyes lit up curiously. "What are those?" Her own thoughts were cut off when asked of what there was to do under the sea. "Well, we dance, sing, and write too. But I love to go exploring!" The mermaid twirled in the water. "I collect human things from sunken ships. No one except my best friend, Flounder, really knows about it though."

“Ha, ha, you’re so cute.” Meg laughed. “I guess it must seem that way. I don’t know, maybe it’s just dried up for me.”

Ariel shrugged, before gazing around trying to think of something to say that would spark up conversation. As long as she had this human girl here, she wanted to talk to her — maybe even make friends with her! The thought of an actual human friend was all too exciting! “So, what else do humans do on land?” She wanted to know anything and everything. Now, with both elbows propping her up on the edge of the riverbank, her chin was rested in her palms. Ariel couldn’t wait to learn more about what it was like to live outside of the ocean.

“NO!” Rapunzel shouted at the voice, continuing to run as fast as she- wait! The princess skidded to a halt, her head swishing around to find the owner of the voice. Help. Help was what she needed more than anything.

“Who said that?” she cried, looking around even faster, then suddenly she spotted a red-haired girl perched on a rock. Help! Help for Eugene!
Rapunzel raced towards the girl, finally reaching her after what felt like far too long.

“Can you help me, please?!” She asked, out of breath. “it’s my fiancee.”

The mermaid waved, hoping the girl would spot her. “Over here!” Ariel dove off the rock and swam to meet the girl. She hadn’t thought much of anything through at this point. Not the danger, nor the fact that as a mermaid she was stuck in the water.

When she came face to face with the girl, she grinned lightly. “I can try! What can I do?”

Rapunzel Could Not Believe It. (and open Para)

She ran.
Rapunzel raced through the trees, tears flew past her face like the branches that cut into her cheeks. She still ran, her bare feet tripping her up, but somehow she managed to stay balanced and kept pushing herself. Faster, faster, always faster. Eugene was in danger- he was gone. Rapunzel didn’t know where. he could be anywhere, she needed to find him.
Eugene.
Always Eugene. This wasn’t fair. They were getting married- they were going to be together forever. Rapunzel stopped looking ahead for a moment, she her eyes traveled to her engagement ring, resting on her finger, a beacon for her love. A symbol of Eugene’s. And no he was in trouble. Rapunzel was positive it had something to do with a shady deal and one hot-headed god.
The only problem was that she had no idea where she was going, where Eugene was, or how she was going to find him and get him home. Alive.

Ariel watched as a girl ran along the tree line, not far from the shore. As she sat perched on a rock, she observed the girl. She looked to be crying, or at least terribly upset about something. No, she wasn’t supposed to engage with humans, but this girl seemed to be in trouble. She needed help.

"Are you okay?" Shouted Ariel, hoping the girl would be able to hear her.

Introductions | Meg & Ariel

inapeloponnesianminute:

“You’re lucky you’re in the sea.” Meg replied. “I could just was all my problems away living in the water. It must be such a great change from what goes on up here. Life on the sand isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, kid.” Meg shook her head. “I’m a little jealous. It sounds incredible under there. Atlantica sounds like a dream come true.”

True, the sea did have its own kind of charm, but Ariel was still certain that life on land was so much more exciting. “I doubt it…” She replied, without so much as a second thought. It baffled her that a human would actually want to live in the ocean. Though, she could tell Meg had meant what she had said. That made Ariel wish there was a way she could bring Meg to Atlantica, just to visit. “The land seems so… so magical!”
